Pre-service Teacher Education (PSTE)

  • To support academic activities in D.El.Ed courses which is carrying out in Government T.T.I, Government Aided T.T.I and Self-Financing T.T.I.
  • To provide inputs into programmes/activities of all other Branches of the Institute, to the extent of subjects/areas represented /handled in the Branch.
  • To promote sports and physical education activities in all T.T.I and schools in Salem District.

Work Experience(WE)

  • To develop teaching - leearning materials.
  • To develop low cost learning tools.
  • To assist schools in the implementation of various fields of work experience.
  • To provide practical training to in-service and pre-service teachers regarding various fields of work experience.
  • To organize various activities like cleanliness drive, repair, maintenance and beautification of the premises etc.

District Resource Unit (DRU)

  • To develop and implement plans for the universalization of education in the district.
  • To organize trainings related to women empowerment, population education and special ability permitted education schemes.
  • To organize training for Anganwadi workers.
  • To organize training for KGBV school teachers.

In Service Programmes, Field Interaction and Innovation, Coordination (IFIC)

  • To prepare annual calendar for DIET activities.
  • To identify the need of training in the district and organise subject-based and theme-based trainings.
  • To work as a nodal branch for field interaction, action research and publication throughout the year.
  • To prepare and implement the abstracts of action research and research projects.

Curriculum ,Material Development and Evaluation(CMDE)

  • To review curriculum and new school text books from 1 to 12 standard.
  • To identify and develop learning material as per the local environment.
  • To conduct trainings regarding diagnostic tests and remedial teaching.
  • To conduct trainings regarding peer-learning and self-evaluation method with a view to improve ability-based teaching – learning and qualitative improvement in evaluation.
  • Development of various evaluation tools like question paper, question bank ,etc.
  • To conduct trainings for an improvement in the mental capability of teachers.
  • To develop question papers for various level exams and conduct training programmes related to them.

Educational Technology (ET)

  • To organize trainings regarding development and use of low-cost teaching aids and audio-visual materials.
  • To conduct trainings regarding use of educational technology in education with a view to make communication effective.
  • To conduct training programmes aimed at developing awareness about latest tools of educational technology, viz., computer, LCD projector etc.,
  • To impart training on awarness of digital education tools.
  • Development of ability based educational material and drafting of radio & video lessons.

Planning and Management (P & M)

  • To collect educational data to assist DIET programmes.
  • To organize various training programmes on school development plan, school management and leadership trainings.
  • To identify lab area and make efforts for educational improvements.
  • To conduct Programme Advisory Committee (PAC) meeting at district level.
  • To provide assistance in the development of school self-evaluation tools.
  • To provide technical assistance in micro-planning to educational officers.
